Remote Monitoring / Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) Telematics with VersaCloud M2M Enabled Devices and Portals

The VersaCloud M2M IIOT enabled devices (Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Programmable Communications Gateways) can communicate to a variety of hardware interfaces, communications networks and protocols and then transmit current status of these items including sensors, encoders and Digital I/O to the cloud. Through the Portal and Dashboards, you can view the real-time status of these items.

These VersaCloud M2M IIOT devices are configurable and communicate to the VersaCloud M2M server based on a communications schedule or triggering event. The communications schedule (frequency of connection), data size and type communicated to the server is based on the VersaCloud M2M enabled device's ladder diagram / structured text program. The programming determines the type of connection, frequency of connection and the amount and types of data that is transmitted to the VersaCloud M2M server. These settings are completely programmable and should be based on actual application needs. The VersaCloud M2M exclusive cloud portal with drag and drop features to allow you to customize and personalize multiple dashboard pages for your exact application needs.

Monitor Equipment Processes / Status
The VersaCloud M2M IIOT enabled devices (Programmable Logic Controllers and Gateways), through the Portal and Dashboards*, allow you to view real time statistics (and historical data) of your connected equipment's processes and operation status. For devices with GPS functionality, the current location (and additional GPS data) can be used and graphed in the Portal.

With VersaCloud M2M Portals and Devices, you can remotely monitor:
  • Operation Parameters
  • Sensor / I/O Status
  • Run Hours / System Health Status
  • Equipment Location (using GPS)
  • Logged Operation Data
  • Any Parameter you Program to Send

Alarms and Faults
The VersaCloud M2M portal may be used to access and view connected equipment Alarms and Faults when they occur. The portal provides functionality to Text (SMS) and E-mail recipients in the event of pre-programmed events that are determined in the ladder diagram / structured text program on the controller or gateway.

With real time monitoring, personnel can react to Alarm or Fault conditions by viewing current equipment information and current status including data that would be helpful in determining the actual equipment's status or what may be the actual alarm / fault cause. Using this information, maintenance personnel receiving the alerts can determine the best method to respond to the fault / alarm including what if any parts would be needed and what the urgency is of getting personnel onsite.
